This is a very special program taking you from Nairobi through the lush farming communities from Thika driving north towards Nyeri, through a landscape creating a dramatic back-drop to the journey. On a clear day views around Mt Kenya may be seen, birdlife and the Rift Valley lakes are spectacular, while the big-game in Masai Mara is unforgettable. This scheduled small group trip is guaranteed to depart for a minimum of 2 clients.

Meet and greet services, airport transfers in safari minibus or mini coach on shared basis, all transport and game drives on safari sector will be in a safari minibus with pop-up roof (maximum 7 passengers) with an English / Bilingual (French, German, Italian or Spanish) speaking driver-guide on shared basis, guaranteed window seat, meals and accommodation as specified, all park fees and government taxes, ½ litre bottle mineral water per person per day on game drives. Visa’s, airport taxes, gratuities, drinks and other activities not included in the package price, seasonal supplements.

Day 1

Upon arrival into Nairobi, clients will be met and transferred to the Tamarind Tree hotel where you will spend the night on a bed and breakfast basis in a standard room. Afternoon at leisure. (Check in time 14:00). Depending on time of arrival clients may choose to do an optional excursion.

The Tamarind Tree Hotel is ideally located just 5 kms southwest of Nairobi within the spacious grounds of the iconic Carnivore Restaurant. The hotel offers easy access to all parts of the city. The nearby Langata and Karen suburbs are among the vibrant and most popular in Nairobi with world-class shopping malls and excellent restaurants. Tamarind Tree Hotel, with its world-class amenities, is perfect for both the business and leisure traveller.

Day 2

After breakfast and drive north and into the Aberdare Mountain range forest arriving at Aberdares Country Club for check in and lunch, then afternoon transfer to The Ark. This is a tree lodge set in a forest glade with a waterhole that attracts all sorts of wildlife during the day and night. The waterhole is floodlit at night giving you a chance to sample night game. Dinner and overnight at The Ark. Drive time approx: 4.5 hours.

The Ark is within Aberdares national park. The park is legendary for its historical royal connection, the animals it attracts and for the sheer joy of exploring a tree house may be visited by rhino, elephant, buffalo, lion, bushbuck, waterbuck and many other species. Here, guests are met by a hotel guide who advises guests on common sense rules of behaviour necessary for safety and good animal viewing. Solely dedicated to game viewing, the accommodation is compact and cosy. At 7,500 feet (2,286 meters) above sea level it is chilly at night at all times of the year, especially from June to September. During these months, you will need sweaters and hats for comfort and warmth.

Day 3

After an early breakfast, depart heading towards Nyahururu followed by travel in a southerly direction to your next destination, the spectacular Lake Nakuru. Arrive in the park and view game en route to the lodge. Following lunch and a siesta, there is an afternoon game drive returning to the lodge as the sun sets. The national park, known for its birdlife, offers a possibility to view flamingoes. It is also home to Black and White rhinos as well as the endangered Rothschild Giraffe. Overnight at Lake Nakuru Lodge on a full board basis. Drive time approx: 4 hours.                                                                                   Lake Nakuru Lodge Lake Nakuru Lodge is situated in the heart of one of Kenya’s most densely populated wetland National Parks, (Ramsar site) about 4 hour’s drive from Nairobi, through beautiful forested uplands and passing a series of lakes. Just south of Nakuru lies the park which has achieved international fame as an ornithological. Both black and white rhino are being given a new lease of life in this 188 sq km, fully-fenced park – and they are carefully protected. The rare Rothschild giraffe, buffalo, leopard, zebra, eland, waterbuck and lion. Lake Nakuru Lodge is in the south-east ecological niche of the park, with commanding views of the lake and the flamingos for which it is justly famous. Lush gardens surround the lodge and cottages. There is a good programme of activities and evening entertainment.

Day 4

After an early morning breakfast, drive to Narok town with a brief a rest stop and proceed on to Mara arriving in time for lunch at the Keekorok Lodge. After lunch, depart for an afternoon game drive returning back to the lodge as the sun sets. Overnight at Keekorok Lodge on a full board basis. Drive time approx: 5.5 hours.                                                                                                                                  Keekorok Lodge The first lodge to be built in the reserve was opened in 1965 and lies at the southern end of Masai Mara National Reserve, approximately 280 kilometres from Nairobi. It is sited in the direct path of the annual migration of wildebeest. At the height of the migration, Keekorok is surrounded by a swarming mass of animals and there is hardly need to go on a game drive. Keekorok’s charm lies in the liberal use of local building materials. Sand stone, cedar wood and other indigenous materials are used in all rooms and public areas. In front of the lodge there is a 300m elevated walkway that meanders through a small riverine forest to a small pool bar at one end overlooking a dam where resident hippo and other game are regularly seen. There are no fences around Keekorok and it is not uncommon to see elephant and buffalo on the perimeter of the grounds or even strolling in. Though there are guards on the constant vigil!

Day 5

Entire day dedicated to game viewing with early morning and afternoon game drives. Overnight at Keekorok Lodge on a full board basis.

Day 6

AAfter breakfast depart the Masai Mara and head to Nairobi via Narok, the district headquarters of this part of Maasailand. Cross the vast plains on the floor of the Rift Valley whilst keeping an eye out for herds of giraffe and gazelle before heading up the rift escarpment. Arrive approximately by 1230 hours. You will be dropped off at a city hotel or at the airport for onward flight or travel arrangements. Drive time approx: 5.5 hours.
