Kenya has about 40 golf courses – Second to South Africa country in Africa. Of which 12 are 18-hole, 10 of which are used for championship events. 6 are within a 20 mile radius of Nairobi – Kenya’s bustling capital. The weather in Kenya is ideal for golf all year round.

In fact Kenya has all the right ingredients to rival the Mediterranean as a winter golf destination.

The history of golf in Kenya goes back a long way, with one club in Nairobi celebrating its centenary in 2006. Locally, the game is thriving as never before. Young and gifted players are starting to compete internationally at the highest
levels.

Day 1

Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi and proceed to the Sarova Stanley Hotel located in the heart of the city of Nairobi. Established in 1902, the Sarova Stanley is one of the oldest hotels in Nairobi and was for years home to the Nairobi Stock Exchange. The hotel has undergone a major refurbishment and is one of the top 5 star properties in Nairobi. Dinner and overnight at the Sarova Stanley.

Day 2

Start with an early breakfast then proceed to Muthaiga Golf Club, one of Kenya’s pioneer golf courses that has for years, hosted the country’s most prestigious golf events, the Kenya Open where upcoming and returning pros compete in the African leg of the European Challenge Tour.

A good number of well known golfing personalities such as Vijay Singh, Seve Ballesteros and Ian Woosnam have made this a successful stop enroute to the European challenge.

The course has just undergone a complete redesign making it a brand new golfing experience for returning golfers. Afternoon excursions to the City of Nairobi, Karen Blixen, National Museum available on request (optional). Dinner on this night will be at the Tamarind Restaurant, one of the city’s premier sea food outings. Overnight at Sarova Stanley.

Day 3

After breakfast, proceed to the Royal Nairobi Golf Club, the oldest golf club in Kenya, having started in 1906 with a nine hole course.

Presently, it is a fine 18 hole course that is located just minutes away from the bustling downtown Nairobi and plays host to one of the most talked- about local tournaments, the Tanahill Cup that takes place every Easter.

Spend the afternoon at leisure or choose to take excursions to the City of Nairobi, Karen Blixen, or the National Museum (optional). Dinner and overnight at Sarova Stanley.

Day 4

Depart after breakfast for Wilson Airport. (Flights depart at 9.00 am). Arrival after one hour and pick up from the airstrip for your en route game drive in the famous Maasai Mara National Reserve home to the greatest concentration of Africa’s “Big Five” (Buffalo, lion,Rhino, Leopard and elephant) species. Enjoy your dinner and overnight at Sarova Mara Luxury Tented Camp

Day 5

Your chance to enjoy an early morning game drive across the rich tree stubbed grasslands and rolling hills. You will find breathtaking views over the famous migration corridor through which more than a million Zebras and wildebeest pass
yearly in search for greener pastures Enjoy an after noon game drive or opt for a visit to the Maasai villages. . Meals and overnight at Sarova Mara Luxury Tented Camp.

Day 6

Early morning pre – breakfast game drive. After breakfast or lunch enjoy the drive to the airstrip for your flight back to Nairobi (Flights arrive in the afternoon). Transfer back to Sarova Stanley and have the afternoon at leisure. Dinner and overnight at Sarova Stanley.

Day 7

Have a late breakfast and enjoy the morning at leisure. Proceed to Karen Country Club, which is located in the famous Ngong Hills and is an admirably maintained course with strong traditions and high standards.

It is considered by some to be one of the most attractive due to its profusion of flowers and trees. Karen Country Club is one of the top eighteen-hole courses and has hosted the Kenya Open several times.

After playing the Karen Course, have dinner at the world famous Carnivore Restaurant, where all sorts of meat items (including game meat) are served in traditional barbeque stakes. Overnight at Sarova Stanley.

Day 8

Depart for Jomo Kenyatta International Airport after breakfast for onward flight to Mombasa. Proceed to Sarova Whitesands Beach Hotel for check in and lunch.

In the afternoon play a round of golf at the nearby Nyali Golf Club, an 18-hole championship golf course.

The course is as magnificent as it is challenging and your game will definitely be uplifted by the antics of the vervet monkeys and the flowering coastal trees that add character to the fairways. Dinner and overnight at Sarova White sands.

Day 9

Play a round of golf immediately after breakfast then relax on the beach or choose to go on excursions or participate in beach sporting activities e.g snorkeling, deep sea fishing, visits to the marine park and visits to Mombasa old Town which has plenty of historical sites (optional). Dinner and overnight at Sarova Whitesands.

Day 10

Depart Mombasa after an early breakfast then proceed to the Sarova Stanley for check in and lunch. Proceed to Royal Nairobi Club for a round of golf. Dinner and Overnight Sarova Stanley.

Day 11

Depart for Nairobi and transfer to the airport for your flight home.
